DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY CRIME LAB
Corpus Christi, TX | 18,000 Sq. Ft. | $10,000,000 | Test, Adjust & Balance

This project was awarded as a Task Order on our Texas Facilities Commission IDIQ HVAC Testing and Balancing (TAB) Professional Engineering Services. In addition to TAB, LCCx provided Commissioning (Cx) in accordance with ASHRAE Guideline 0.  The DPS Corpus Christi Crime Lab project was a 17,000  building renovation that had never been properly commissioned and the Owner had experienced dissapointing performance from the HVAC system. LCCX, performed Test, Adjust, and Balance (TAB) in accordance with “AABC/NEBB” TAB Standards.

The LCCX team reviewed installation of equipment, the submittals, the construction documents, the manufacture’s start-up procedures and assisted in problem and deficiency resolution.  During TAB verification LCCx chaired and documented meeting progress while identifying and resolving Deficiency Issues.  Finally LCCx prepared a comprehensive Findings of TAB and Cx Issues.

This is a sophisticated laboratory which require exact balance between the air supply to the laboratory and exact exhaust through the lab fume hoods to maintain a negative pressure within the laboratory as required by safety and design considerations.  The laboratory section of the facility was designed to operate as a CV (Constant Volume) HVAC supply and exhaust system.  We measured and established the correct flows to maintain this appropriate air balance.
